Steam Games Forced to Show Screenshots

Great move by Valve on this one, but knowing how they treat their software, someone at the company probably had to get screwed for anyone to realize it's even a problem. Lord knows they seem to hold updating their desktop and mobile designs with a level of apathy not seen by almost any other tech company. Valve even went as far as to admit they'd been using the same tactic to sell their own games.

Valve admitted that it hasn’t always followed these rules itself, though it’s making a concerted effort to change that. “Dota 2 is an example of where we were doing it wrong ourselves. We’re now in the process of updating Dota 2 to use screenshots of the game rather than artwork,” the company said, offering the following image denoting what it had been doing wrong.
